Ullala: Indian Coast Guard rescues 15 Syrian mariners

Mangaluru: In a swift operation, 15 Syrian mariners in distress aboard were rescued by Indian Coast Guard here off Mangaluru Coast on Tuesday June 21.

Under Search and Rescue (SAR) Mission, Indian Coast Guard rescued and saved the lives of 15 Syrians from aboard MV Princess Miral that ran aground off Ullala Coast.

The SAR Mission was coordinated by ICG ships Vikram and Amartya. The crew of the grounded vessel abandoned the ship bound for Lebanon from Malaysia.
