Undivided DK gets three cases; DK registers two, Udupi witnesses one

Mangaluru: Two more persons from Dakshina Kannada district were tested positive for Covid-19 while neighbouring Udupi district had one case, today, May 17.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in DK have eached 52.

A 31-year-old man and a 35-year-woman are the two persons tested positive.

While the woman had an inter-state travel history to Maharashtra, the details of the man is yet to be confirmed.

It is said that the lady hailing from Yeyyadi on outskirts of the city had returned from Mumbai on May 14 and was under quarantine.

Meanwhile, a 54-year-old man from Udupi too has been tested positive. He too has travel history to Mumbai.

The district’s COVID-19 tally, with one new cases has shot up to nine. Udupi district had remained in the Green Zone with three cases.

However, five new cases were registered recently with the arrival of the reptriates from Dubai on Tuesday late night.
