Mangaluru: Reacting to sarcastic remarks by the State Minister for Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayareddy against Prime Minister Modi, Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar said, ” There is a constitutional accreditation for the position of prime minister. Let him (Rayareddy) know this. There is a provision in the Constitution to access the security. Let him have this basic knowledge and learn what constitution says.”
He was speaking to media after inaugurating the renovated lab of physiotherapy at Vikas College here on Saturday April 22.
On Friday, Rayareddy had made remarks against the prime minister while responding to a question on the the removal of red beacons from the VIP vehicles. Rayareddy had also stated that Centre should also remove security cover being provided to officials, ministers including Modi to put an end to VIP culture.
Commenting on CM Siddaramaiah, he said, ” The chief minister who claims to be the leader of the backward class is silent on the union government’s OBC Commission Constitutional Status Bill. Why? The Congress party which did not support this move, rejected the Bill in Rajya Sabha and went against the will of the people.”
Union minister Ramesh Jigajinagi, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and others were present.
