Mangaluru: Smt Vimala V Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Awards 2016, instituted by T V Mohandas Pai, under the aegis of World Konkani Centre (WKC) for the current year, have been announced.
The best Konkani Sahitya Puraskar 2016 will go to veteran writer from Goa Sudha Karangate for her novel ‘Kapyallem ‘. The Best Konkani Kavitha Krithi Puraskar will be conferred on renowned Konkani poet Melwyn Rodrigues for his poetry ‘Devi Ninkasi’. Jeevan Siddhi Puraskar (Lifetime Achievment Award) will be bestowed on Writer, social activist and Konkani researcher Arvinda Bhatikara Goa, who has been a staunch supporter of the Konkani movement for recognition and empowerment.
The three awards, each carrying prize money of Rs 1 lakh each, will be presented at a ceremony to be held on November 6 at T V Raman Pai hall, Kodialbail.
