Mangaluru: Extending help to the needy, Vivek Raj Poojary of Panama Corporation Ltd will distribute over 1000 grocery kits on the morning of May 21,in 4 different parts of the city starting in Valencia.
Each grocery kit is sufficient for a family of two people for a period of 15 days. Each kit costs around Rs.1000. More than 1500 kits have already been delivered during this lockdown. On May 21st, on the death anniversary of Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the Congress party will distribute and sponsor 500 kits through company Panama Corporation Limited.
“The Indian National Congress was considerate to help us to expand our mission. We strongly believe in their ideology and are now proud to be part of this organization. We have been working closely with many wonderful people of this political party,” stated the press note.
Ivan D’Souza, a Member of Legislative Council, Chairperson of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee D. K. Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Salim Ahmed, Executive Chairman of KPCC with the others had lent their helping hands.
The press release said, ”we also looked into the needs of street vendors, later provided them with umbrellas to protect them from rain and sunlight, thus making their work environment more comfortable to work in. We also provided 10 pushcarts to sustain their businesses during times of distress. A further 30 pushcarts will be issued in the coming days. They will also be educated about hygiene and safety measures to be followed. We will also ensure that their carts are placed in strategically designated areas in a manner that is convenient for motorists, pedestrians, or the other public purchase goods.”
