Mangaluru: A heated exchange of words was witnessed between the Karnataka and Kerala police escorting Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan as he arrived by train at Central railway station here.
Vijayan who is in the city to participate in a communal harmony rally was welcomed by CPI (M) leaders.
The argument between the cops ensued after Karnataka police personnel reportedly said that they were in charge of the visiting Kerala CM’s security and asked the Kerala police personnel not to worry about the same.
The police have been maintaining a tight vigil in the city in the wake of a bandh call given by the saffron parties to protest Vijayan’s participation in the communal harmony rally.
Following some stone pelting incidents across the city, the police have now imposed Section 144 in the area.
