Without ‘Jihad’ terrorism would widespread: Swami Lakshmi Shankaracharya

Swami Lakshmi Shankaracharya rendering a talk on principles of Quran and Prophet Mohammad

Mangaluru: “The term ‘Jihad’ is being misconceptualised. If Jihad was absent, then terrorism would have rapidly spread”, opined “The History of Islamic Terrorism” famed Sri Swami Laskhmi Shankaracharya, here on, Thursday, November 29.

The Seerath Abhiyan Swagat Samithi which is on its mission of spreading the education and principles of Prophet Mohammad held a talk on Prophet Mohammad as an ultimate guide of mankind.

Sri Swami Lakshmi Shankaracharya who was invited as the chief guest of the programme said, “Prophet Mohammad had inculcated the principles manifested to him by the Almighty Allah and then preached his followers on the same. With his teachings, he changed the whole of Arab land and became a role model for the world.”

“With the principle of forgiveness and non-violence, Prophet Mohammad has become an ultimate guide to mankind”, he added.

Swami opined that if a slap was given on one cheek, asking for one on another, was not a sign of non-violence. If the act stops the offender from doing so, then that constitutes non-violence, he added.

He said that Islam and the Quran have taught several meaningful principles.

Swami said that there was no scope for terrorism in Islam and that Prophet Mohammad only gave the message of peace.

He lectured on the message of Quran and Prophet Mohammad through his speech.

Inaugurating the event National Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind Mohammad Iqbal said, “The society has scientifically progressed a lot, but we have failed in providing an ultimate platform for humans.”

“The reason behind the relations going for a toss is because of unmatched wavelength between each other”, he added.

Assistant of Editor of Prajavani, B M Haneef said, “We all tend to say that corruption, unemployment, poverty and many other issues are the reasons for the hindrance in the growth of our country, but ego, hatred, and jealousy also are prime reasons.”

“When Arab land was in total darkness, Prophet Mohammad had guided each individual and helped in uniting everyone, therein removing the blanket of darkness”, he added.

Meanwhile, prominent novelist Kum. Veerabhadrappa and Professor of SVP Kannada Research Organisation, Mangalore University, Prof. B Shivaram Shetty also shared their views.

Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind Karnataka President Mohammad Attarullah Sharief, Secretary Ashraf K M, Maulana Yahya Thangal Madani and others were present.
