Tragic Fall Claims Life: 65-Year-Old Woman Dies in Mangaluru Bus Mishap

Mangaluru: A 65 year-old woman died after she fell out of the bus and the rear left wheel of the bus ran over her, at Jokatte Cross on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Monday morning.

Eramma, according to Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal, is the name of the deceased. When the accident happened, she and her daughter were riding a private bus (Bus Number: KA 19 AA 2519) to Surathkal.

The commissioner stated that at approximately 10:10 a.m., when the bus arrived at the service station close to Jokatte Cross, driver Anil John Lobo abruptly and carelessly engaged the brakes, causing Eramma, who was seated on the front seat next to the driver, to tumble out of the vehicle. She also suffered a severe head injury when the bus’s rear left wheel ran over her, and she instantly passed away. A case has been filed under IPC Sections 279 and 304(A) at the Traffic North Police Station. “More research is underway,” the Commissioner stated.
