Mangaluru: Digitalisation has brought the world closer to our finger tips and has enabled us to shop and make payments without leaving the comfort of our house. With all the freedom and the convenience, also comes a risk of which not many are aware.

A 41-year-old woman from Dongarakerry, found out just how risky it can be to be a part of the digitalised world when hackers, managed to siphon off a total of Rs 1.3 Lakh from her bank accounts.

According to the police, the woman has three different accounts in three different banks to which her husband working abroad, would transfer money online. She noticed the fraud when she went to the banks to update her passbooks.

According to her, she never received any SMS alerts from either of the banks when the transactions were made. All the transfers, amounting to almost Rs 1.3 Lakh, were made to e-wallets such as Paytm and Mobikwik.
