Mangaluru: A gang attacked the residence of State Congress IT Cell Secretary and Women’s Congress general Secretary Shailaja Amarnath, and broke the window of house and painted house in Mud Oil on Saturday June 18.
A group of young men who had come to the house in Bappalige, Puttur, smashed the glasses fitted into the window of the house and poured mud oil into the house’s sitout. It is understood that the FIR is being filed at the Puttur Town Police Station as per complaint by Shailaja.
Earlier, Hindutva organisations had lodged a complaint with the Puttur Town Police against Shailaja for insulting Hindu gods. The complaint alleges that she used derogatory words against the Hindu Gods Sriramachandra, Sita and Hanuman at the social platform Clubhouse.
The complaint was filed against a team named ‘Sunday Uncles are Monday Sons’ which included Shailaja Amarnath, Preetu Shetty AKA Mahalaxmi, Congress IT Cell’s Anil, Praveen and Puneeth. The team had organised a programme on social platform, Clubhouse on Wednesday June 15 at 9.00 pm.
Stating that in the talk show, they had spoken derogatorily about the Hindu deities and it was done with intention of promoting hatred among different castes and religions as well as to disturb social peace, the Hindu Jagruti Vedike and Bajrang Dal’s Puttur Unit had filled a complaint against the show and speakers.
The audio of Shailaja Amarnath and others speaking at the Clubhouse has been viral since past two days.
