Mangaluru: Hours after being appointed district in-charge minister, State Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader assured to consider everyone equally without any discrimination when it comes to the development of the district and work for peace and harmony in the society.
Addressing a press meet here in the city on June 15, Khader stated that he would not play any political games and would hold a discussion with all MLAs, former MLAs, MPs, officers and various stakeholders for the development of the district.
“For the development of the district, I will approach the chief minister along with all the MLAs and get things done. To complete important works of development in the city, I will take a delegation to the union government and settle things after meeting the ministers concerned”, he said.
Khader also informed that in a recent meeting, he had asked the officers of Urban Development to implement the smart city projects and work on the ADB II Phase in Mangaluru City very soon.
“I have told the officers to appoint a separate commissioner to implement the smart city project in the city”, Khader added.
He also said that he had directed the officials to bring relaxation in the rules and provide loans from co-operative banks to begin the constriction of houses, under the housing scheme for low-income groups in the state.
