Surathkal: P. Vijayananda Rao (63), a renowned performer of Yakshagana harikirtans, passed away on the 19th due to a heart attack.
The deceased is survived by two daughters, a wife, and a son. Vijayananda Rao served as the Executive Director of the Sheni Gopalakrishna Charitable Trust and annually organized award ceremonies for contributions to the field. He was actively involved in Yakshagana music and had a keen interest in the cultural heritage of the Tulu region.
