Mangaluru: Ace director Yograj Bhat’s new film Panchatantra will be out in March and this film is not going to be anything you have seen before.

The idea of the film or the plot was suggested to Bhat by a humble auto driver named Kanthappa and Bhat, along with writer Manju worked on the plot and moulded it into a film. If that is not surprising enough, Bhat says that the plot of the film revolves around car racing, a topic that has not been touched by the Indian film industry so far.

During a press meet in Mangaluru on February 19, Bhat said that he was so mesmerised by the storyline that he had to keep two of his films in the waiting list so that he could take up work on Panchatantra.

“They say people from Tulunadu do not accept Kannada films, but with the growth of Coastalwood, I believed people here will accept sensible films from any language, ” he said adding that he was confident of the coastal people appreciating his film which will release by March end.

Bhat also said that despite his plan to direct a Tulu film, he could not due to several reasons.

The heroine of the film Sonali Montero, expressing her pleasure on working with Yogaraj Bhat said that the film would definitely become a milestone in her career.

The film revolves around the antics of the young generation and the old, with a dash of young generation’s whirlwind romance. Apart from being high on romance, drama and wickedly humorous, the core of the film has a land dispute that turns out into a competition between the two parties. It could be a sports genre film too because it has to its credit of being India’s biggest car race ever shot. The film summerizes the whole irony of the fable rabbit and the tortoise in a fun filled quarrel between the old and young.

The film has Vihaan, Sonal Monteiro and Akshara Gowda in the lead roles. Rangayana Raghu, Kari Subbu, Deepal Shetty, Satyanna and others play supporting characters. V Harikrishna has composed the music for the film.
