Mangaluru: A 13-year-old boy lost his life in the Nethravati river after slipping and falling while playing with friends in Navoora village, located in the Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, according to police sources.
The victim, identified as Prajwal Nayak from Kodibailu in Navoora, had accompanied other children to the riverside for some playtime. Unfortunately, he accidentally slipped into the river during their activities.
Despite the prompt efforts of local divers who quickly brought him ashore, the young boy could not be saved. The Bantwal rural police have initiated a case in connection with the incident.
