Puttur: Srujith (17), a resident of Paichar Shantinagar in Sullya, tragically passed away after being admitted to Chetana Hospital in Puttur for treatment on Saturday. A renowned doctor from Puttur performed an operation on the young man on that day. Following the procedure, the doctor informed the family that his condition had worsened during the night and advised them to transfer him to a hospital in Mangalore.
The young man’s death is suspected to be due to the hospital’s negligence. Allegedly, Srujith’s surgery at Chetana Hospital was conducted without the necessary ventilator system. Angry locals and relatives protested at the hospital with the deceased youth’s body. They are upset about the perceived carelessness of the medical staff. They are calling for the arrest of the doctor who performed the surgery, but the doctor has reportedly fled. A case has been filed at the Puttur Police Station regarding this incident.
