Young photographer accidentally drowns in Phalguni river, dies

Mangaluru: A young photographer drowned in river Phalguni on Saturday, May 9 evening at Maravoor.

The deceased has been identified as Kaushik (22) an employee of Diya Studio, Kavoor. He was a resident of Falnirkatte and was living with his mother.

The two lived alone and Kaushik was the sole breadwinner of the family.

Kaushik had dropped out of college after the first PUC and joined Diya Studio soo thereafter. Was said to be good at both videography and photography.

Studio owner Ashok remembers Kaushik as a very soft-spoken young boy who had ambitions to make it big in the photography industry.

The youth had gone to the Phalguni river to pick some shellfish when he drowned. He was accompanied by four others, raised an alarm when Kaushik started to drown, Even though one local tried to rescue the youth, he couldn’t succeed.

The Kavoor police have registered a case in this regard.
