Mangaluru: The suspension order of Mithun Rai was revoked and he was asked to take the responsibility of the Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress President again from Thursday, November 16.
Earlier, Congress party had suspended 19 office-bearers from their positions in Karnataka including Mithun Rai on November 5, citing the reason that they had not been active in the party for several months. But, now the party has withdrawn the suspension order and asked Mithun Rai to continue in the same position.
Though Congress suspended 19 office bearers, it has revoked the suspension of only three. The other two leaders, who regained their position are Rajendra, State Vice President of Karnataka Youth Congress Committee and Baire Gowda, State General Secretary of Youth Congress Committee.
When contacted Mithun Rai in this regard, he confirmed the revocation of his suspension with Newskarnataka. He said, “I was unable to attend a state executive committee meeting recently which led to the suspension. As I convinced them with a valid reason for my absence, the party has revoked the order and asked me to continue in the same post”, he clarified.
