Bantwal: A youth was hacked to death at Manihalla near BC Road while another sustained severe injuries. The incident took place Thursday, November 12, night.
The deceased is Harish (28), a resident of Navoor. His friend Samiulla has been hospitalized.
According to sources, Harish and Samiulla had been to play cricket. On their way back, they stopped at a shop near the Old Gate to have tender coconut. A group of assailants arrived at the spot and stabbed Harish. Samiulla sustained injuries while he tried to save his friend.
Though Harish was rushed to a hospital, he could not be rescued.
