Bantwal: A youth rescued the life of an elderly woman who had accidentally fallen into a well in Kolake near Najipamooda here on Thursday, July 18. Kolake resident Siddique saved the life of 60-year-old Parvathi.
Parvathi had accidentally fallen into the well on Thursday morning. The neighbours who witnessed this started crying for help. hearing them, Siddique who was reading a newspaper at a nearby shop, immediately jumped into the well. Later, with the help of the neighbours, he used a rope to lift Parvathi up the well. Later he immediately rushed an exhausted Parvathi to a hospital in Bantwal. She is responding to treatment well and is out of danger.
Siddique is a friend of Parvathi’s younger son Diwaker who lives with her. Siddique’s humane act of risking his life to save another’s is being widely appreciated and the incident is going viral on social media.
