‘Every private hospital must provide Govt health schemes’

Udupi: “All private hospitals must provide health schemes implemented by state government.If they fail to do so, action will be taken”, warned health minister U T Khader.
He was speaking after distributing Manipal health cards in association with G Shanker Family trust and Mogaveera Youth associations.

“There have been reports that even in KMC Manipal hospital, government facilities are not available. Immediately, hospitals should provide all government schemes”, minister directed.

He also added that the Udupi Government hospital will be upgraded to a district hospital. Whereas in Brahmavara government hospital, cold storage will be installed by G Shanker Family trust, he said.

Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, speaking after distribution of health cards said that Dr G Shanker is helping those who are poor and deprived of health facilities by distributing health cards to every section of the society.

During the programme, 1.25 lakh beneficiaries from 25,000 families were provided with Manipal health cards. Manipal VV Registrar Dr G K Prabhu and blood donors Vijaya S Poojary and Sathish Salyan Manipal were honoured on the occasion.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj presided over the fucntion. Byndoor MLA Gopala Poojary, Distict panchayath president Savitha Shivananda Kotian, Town council president Yuvaraj, Fisheries Federation president Yashpal Suvarna, Manipal VV Registrar Dr G K Prabhu, businessman Ananda C Kundar, Bagwady Hobli Mogaveera Mahajana Sabha president MM Suvarna were president.

Sadananda Balkoor welcomed, Trust member Shankara Salyan rendered the vote of thanks. Ganesh Anchan compered the programme.
