Udupi: The Udupi district police have intensified their campaign in areas of Manipal and the Udupi district in the last week owing to the rise in illegal drug consumption in recent years.
In total, 34 people were subjected to medical checks and 34 cases were registered in connection with drug use.
As many as ten cases were registered by the Manipal police, 18 by the CEN Crime Cell, two by the Padubidri police and four by the Shirva police.
It is unfortunate that young people are becoming victims of this kind of abuse. Parents have been requested to keep track of their children’s movements.
