Udupi: An electric cooling morgue was donated by the children of Late N Sripathy Ballal and late N Padmakshi Ballal, Udupi for use by the public free of cost, said Nithyanand Olakkad of Udupi District Nagarika Samithi Trust Committee.
Speaking with media persons at a press meet held in Udupi Press Club on Monday, March 27, Nithyanand Olakkad said that the electric cooling morgue costing Rs 90,000 and measuring 80” long , 36” wide and 18” height will be available for public use irrespective of any caste or creed.
Further, he added that those who need to avail the electric cooler morgue could take the same from the Committee office at Maruthi Vethika, Udupi at the users’ own transport cost and returned to the office in a clean condition after use.
Speaking with media persons, Very Rev Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Udupi said that it was a good initiative on part of the donors since few people could not afford such electric cooler morgues owing to the high rental cost. “Now the family members of Late N Sripathy Ballal and Late N Padmakshi Ballal have provided the electric cooler morgue for public use without any rent. May God bless the donors for their valuable initiative,” he added.
N Murlidhar Ballal, Swathi Murlidhar Ballal, K Ganesh Rao, M D General Crofter, Lathavya Acharya, Ace Udupi, Nazeer Ahmed were present among others during the press meet.
