Udupi: The Principal District and Sessions Court in Udupi hearing the Bhaskar Shetty murder case has decided to fix the date of trial on December 23.
The court decided to fix the trial date on December 23 after a video conference with Rajeshwari Shetty, Navneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat – the three main accused in the murder case, presently lodged in Parappana Agrahara Jail at Bengaluru on Tuesday, November 28 in the presence of Principal Public Prosecutor Shanthi Bai and defence advocate Arun Bangera
Arguing that the COD has not submitted the additional charge sheet and investigations are still pending in the case, advocate Bangera appealed to the court not to fix the trial date. The court while giving time for filing the additional charge-sheet fixed the date for trial on December 23, it is gathered.
It may be recalled that Bhaskar Shetty had gone missing on July 28, 2016. His wife and son who were suspected to have a hand in his disappearance had during the course of investigation confessed to have burnt the businessman to death and disposed the ashes into streams at various locations.
