Udupi: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials, who are here in connection to the investigation of the Bhasker Shetty murder case, continue to stay in the city on Wednesday, August 24.
Additional director general of police of CID, Pratap Reddy held a meeting with the district superintendent of police, K T Balakrishna. Reddy later told mediapersons that intensive investigation is being undertaken by nearly ten officers who are staying in the city.
Reddy further said that nothing could be said as of now on the approach of the local police towards the case. Every detail in the case is being closely monitored, he said.
CID director general of police, H C Kishore Chandra, deputy inspector general, Sonia Narang, superintendent of police, Dr D C Rajappa, and other members of the CID team were present.
Meanwhile, it was learnt on Wednesday that Arun Shetty and Arun Bangera from Mangaluru will fight the case for Rajeshwari and Navaneet, the prime accused in the Bhasker Shetty murder case. Advocate Vikram Hegde from Mangaluru will represent Srinivasa Bhat and Raghavendra who are accused of destroying the evidence. Niranjan Bhat has not yet availed the services of any lawyer. The court will appoint a lawyer to represent him, if he fails to find one or cannot afford one.
