Udupi: State government has decided to hand over the sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case to Criminal Investigation Department(CID) on Tuesday, August 16.
The decision comes after several members of Bunt Community had urged district-incharge minister Pramod Madhwaraj to hand over the case to the CID following ongoing baised investigation in the case.
Meanwhile, Manipal circle inspector SV Girish who is accused of giving special treatment to accused trio in the case has been transferred. He is also facing departmental inquiry.
Bhasker Shetty, a Saudi based businessman and owner of Durga International Hotel in Udupi went missing on July 28 and soon the pin of suspicion pointed at his wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth. Soon the two along with local astrologer Niranjan Bhat were arrested. The remorseless duo has confessed to the crime and also revealed the gory details of the killing, but what leaves the police jittery is the fact that they have not been able to establish the case yet as the dead body of Shetty is yet to be traced.
Niranjan, Navaneeth sent to Hiriadka jail, Rajeshwari to Mangaluru
The three murder-accused in the sensational Bhaskar Shetty murder case have been sent to judicial custody till August 24 by the CJAM court.
