Udupi: “Congress party has a history of 125 years. BJP is day dreaming by trying to make India a Congress-free nation. Congress is like an ocean which is permanent and BJP is just like waves which is temporary”, said Udupi district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
He was speaking after a Congress worker’s meet at Belapu. Sorake said, “In the rural level, Congress has grown like a huge tree. When few branches fall off, the tree does not fall, but it grows again. In a sea, there will be strong waves and there are also chances of a tsunami but ultimately it has to join the sea. Let BJP not dream about finishing Congress. They can fool people with fake promises and huge publicity, but only for a few days. But, Congress has served the nation in internal security, development and eradicating poverty from grass root level”.
Belapu is a model for the state in rural development. Now, after Dr Deviprasad Shetty has joined Congress, the party has gained more power, he added.
BJP local leader Niranjan Shetty Paniyoor, Kunjuru temple administrative head Nadimane Devraj Rao, Sattar Saheb of JD(S), JD(S) minority district secretory Jaheer Ahmad, Vishwakarma Samaj president Shivram Acharya, Raveendra Acharya, Chandrayya Acharya, Bunts Samaj leader Lokesh Shetty Belapuguttu, Dalit leader Mahesh Belapu, Devadiga Samaj leader Balakrishna Devadiga and hundreds of people joined Congress Party under the leadership of Belapu panchayath president Dr Deveprasad Shetty.
