Karkala: A driver of private bus died of a massive heart attack near Thirthahalli and thus rammed the vehicle into a shop on the roadside. However, the passengers in the bus escaped with minor injuries. Srikanta(55) is said to be the deceased driver.
The incident occurred when the Shivamogga bound bus reached Agumbe in Thirthahalli taluk on Tuesday. Soon after the driver suffered heart attack the bus ran off road and jostled into a road side shop. The bus had also destroyed the compound wall of one J S Hegde’s property. The shop owned by Padmanabha Manjar has suffered loss due to the mishap.
According to reports, the driver had chest pain during lunch at a hotel and informed a local about the same.
