Udupi: The State Government has provided security for Yashpal Suvarna, the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) OBC Morcha after receiving death threats for opposing Hijab in schools.
He received death threats over the phone and on social media, and a bounty has been announced to kill him.
A gunman has been assigned to Yashpal, who is also Vice-President of the Udupi government’s Pre-University College Development Committee.
Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik has also been threatened with such a bounty on social media. The post stated that “anyone who kills Survarna and Muthalik will be rewarded with Rs. 10 lakh.”
BJP Yuva Morcha activists have filed a complaint with the Kaup Police Station, demanding strict action against the admin of the social media page.
