Udupi: District Janata Dal (Secular) staged a protest at the Martyr’s Memorial at Ajjarkadu on Friday, January 18, against Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “Resort Politics” and “Operation Kamala.”
Addressing the protesters, District JD(S) President Yogish S Shetty said, “BJP is trying to pull down the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state. BJP is possibly involved in creating crisis by offering legislators ministerial positions and money in return for withdrawing support for the coalition government and joining the BJP.
He chided that the state BJP lawmakers who are currently staying in Gurugram Resort, hopefully, begin working in their constituencies.
“Yeddyuappa and BJP are striving hard to come back to power and are trying to topple our coalition government. BJP is announcing deadlines over the toppling of government. However, they have not succeeded in doing so. The coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is united and the BJP cannot break it,” added Shetty.
Yogish Shetty said that the leaders of BJP are trying to murder democracy with the unconstitutional ”Operation Kamala.”
JD(S) leader Srikanth Adiga and Vasudev Rao also spoke during the protest. Rohit Parampalli, Umesh Kallutte, Shalini Shetty, Gangadher Birthi, S P Barboza, U A Rashid Katpady, Mohammed Harris and others were present during the protest.
