Udupi: Anupama Shenoy, who tendered her resignation to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police of Kudligi sub-division in Bellari over liquor mafia hails from Uchila in Udupi district. According to her parents Radhakrishna Shenoy and Nalini Shenoy, if their daughter is transferred by the state government to Mangaluru, she might withdraw her resignation.
Lady singham Anupama Shenoy tenders resignation?-1Her father Radhakrishna, following her resignation said that if he had known that she was subjected to torture by the senior officials and people’s representatives, he would not have had provided her higher edication. “I ran a canteen to help her to pursue higher studies. For time being, she is staying away from the family”, he said.

Shenoy handed over her resignation letter to her junior officer asking him to forward it to higher officer which was received at the office of Superintendent of Police, Ballari on June 4. She decided to tender resignation over construction of an extended building of a liquor shop that would block way to Ambedkar Bhavan in Kudligi town.

A day after submitting her resignation Shenoy blamed the ‘liquor mafia’ for her resignation and slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s governance as ‘Rum’ Rajya through her Facebook account on Sunday.

In a fresh post Shenoy on Monday indicated that state government is expected to file an FIR against her allegedly for posting status against the government and top officers of the police department in her Facebook account.

Meanwhile the BJP and JD(S) have taken these developments as an opportunity to target the state government and accused that it is discouraging the honest officials.

The officer was also in the forefront of stopping illegal liquor mafia in her jurisdiction, when she was abruptly transferred on the day the Election Commission announced the code of conduct for Zilla and Taluk Panchayat elections in the State.

It may be recalled that Shenoy was in news for being shunted out of the district and later reinstated for keeping the phone call of Labour Minister P.T. Parmeshwar Naik on hold.
