Udupi: As a preventive move to prevent the third wave of Covid-19 in Udupi, District In-charge Minister Basavaraj Bommai ordered that all school students in the district to get their health checked by the end of July.
On Monday June 21, Bommai spoke through video conference at a review meeting on the district’s Covid-19 status.
“Collect information on all students in the district’s schools and check their health at the school where they are enrolled. Ensure that one MBBS physician, an AYUSH physician, and a paediatrician are among the team members assigned to visit the schools during the health check-up,” said Bommai.
“During the check-up, do a full survey of malnutrition and other problems in children and, if necessary, administer free medicines to the children. School administrators and Anganwadi personnel should inform parents about the health check-ups in schools. Take steps to ensure that children accompany their parents to health check-ups,” he added.
MLA Sunil Kumar, Lalaji R Mendon, Coastal Development Authority chairman Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Madhusudan Nayak, and DHO Dr Nagabhushana Udupa attended the conference.
