Udupi: The district, which had witnessed three corona cases so far is now shocked with detection of five new positive cases on Thursday.
Udupi district remained in the Green Zone eversince the Corona cases started getting registered in the state.
However, the arrival of repatriates from Dubai in an evacuation flight on Tuesday has left people of the district worried.
As many as five persons out of the 49 passengers, who arrived from Dubai on Tuesday in first evacuation flight have been tested positive.
“All the passengers from Dubai were tested in Mangaluru. Out of them three men and two women have been tested positive. A meeting of the health officials have been held. All the positive persons have been sent to TMA Pai COVID hospital for treatment, while the rest of the passengers have been sent for quarantine on arrival,” said Udupi DC Jagadeesh, in a video.
