Kidnapped child rescued in less than 24 hours in Udupi

Udupi: The police on Sunday July 11 rescued the kidnapped child in less than 24 hours and also nabbed the kidnappers.

The kidnapper has been identified as Prashu, a resident of Bagalkot and was caught late Sunday night. The kidnapped boy, Shivraj (2) and the accused were both brought back to Udupi by the police on Monday.

Following a tip-off, the Udupi Police Inspector Pramod Kumar led a team of officers and held investigations into the case. The police team that contacted the bus operator after tracing the bus that Prashu boarded and got information that the kidnapper got off the bus with the child in Bhatkal.

Soon, the Udupi police informed the Bhatkal police, who along with Kumta, and Karwar police forces conducted a successful operation. Following this, the Kumta police successfully nabbed the kidnapper.

A complaint was registered at the Udupi city police station by the parents of the child on Sunday morning.
