Manipal: The Kasturba Hospital, Manipal will introduce the first-ever Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorder Clinic, in the Udupi District.
Dr. Sahana Shetty, (DM Endocrinology), has joined the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Disorder’s Clinic, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal as a Consultant Endocrinologist. Dr. Sahana Shetty would be available for consultation on all week days with immediate effect. Dr. Sahana joins the Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, Manipal from Christian Medical College, Vellore where she was working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Endocrinology. She pursued her DM in Endocrinology from CMC Vellore.
Dr. Sahana specialises in the treatment of a variety of endocrine and metabolic disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, metabolic bone diseases, pituitary, adrenal and gonadal dysfunctions.
She has gained expertise in the comprehensive diabetes care, treatment of young onset diabetes mellitus, diabetes during pregnancy, obesity and its complications, young onset and secondary hypertension, lipid disorders, thyroid disorders, short stature, tall stature, early or late puberty, menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, excessive facial hair, reproductive and sexual disorders. Osteoporosis, recurrent fractures, bone pains and deformities, recurrent kidney stones, steroid related problems, dyselectrolytemias, neuroendocrine tumours and other hormone related problems are the other areas where advanced treatment would be offered by the Department of Endocrinology.
