Udupi: The district administrations of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru and the Election Commission have completed all the preparations for Lok Sabha voting, which will be held tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters, Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidyakumari said that there are 405 sensitive polling stations in the Lok Sabha constituency, of which 203 are in Udupi and 202 in Chikkamagaluru. Arrangements have been made for webcasting at 1,270 polling stations.
All the polling stations will be guarded by Central Armed Police Forces. She said all preparations for tomorrow’s voting have been completed, and additional check-posts at Nejaru, Haladi, and Kundapur have been opened.
Arrangements have been made for filming at 18 polling stations, and micro-observers will be deployed at 459 polling stations. She mentioned that around 97% of houses have received voter slips, and added that voters are not allowed to carry their mobile phones inside the polling stations. For election duty, 4,120 officials have been deployed, she said.
