Retired ISRO scientist drowns in river near Karkala

Karkala: Retired Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist, Ratnakar S C (63), died after accidentally slipping and drowning in a river on Wednesday March 3.

Rathnakar was residing at Sri Ramakrishna Ashram in Yerlapady in Karkala taluk for some time. He had gone to take a bath in the Swarna river flowing near the Ashram at 10: 40 a.m.

His body was found from the river around 4 p.m.

Ratnakar had retired from ISRO four years ago and originally comes from Shivmogga.

A case has been registered by the Karkala town police under CrPC section 174.
