Rowdy sheeter William D’souza brutally attacked by rival gang

Karkala: In a spine chilling incident, a rival gang attempted to murder rowdy-sheeter Attur William D’souza here on August 1 near Doopadakatte. Found in pool of blood, he was immediately rushed to Taluk hospital and then to Manipal KMC hospital.

William D’souza had brutally attacked Doopadakatte Harish Poojary in 2014. The police are suspecting that the associates of Harish might have taken revenge and as a result attacked William. ASP Sumana and Karkala rural stattion officer Rafiq are investigating further.

The rowdy-sheeter from Darbaje near Nitte Attur church was arrested from his house by the Karkala rural police and team on May 21. They had recovered 40 live bullets and two knives from the accused. William is said to be an aide of underground don Koraga Vishwanatha Shetty and has carried out several crimes in Udupi and Mumbai. He was pretending to be a good person at his house. He used to roam around with knives hidden in his pants. He is accused of assault, molesting girls, communal hatred, illegal sale of liquor, threatening and protecting thieves.
