Udupi: Udupi district Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis has declared a holiday for schools and colleges on January 8, in connection with the nation-wide bundh call of several trade unions.
The holiday has been announced for all schools and colleges in the district in order to maintain law and order and to prevent any untoward incidents in the district.
Various national-level trade unions have called for a national bundh on January 8 and 9 against the repressive policies for workers adopted by the BJP-led Union government.
