Karkala: A Sri Lankan national who fell in love and married a youth from Irvathur, when the two were employed in Kuwait, has come to this remote village of Karkala in search of the man whom she had wedded.
KR Rafia says that she had married Syed Mohsin Yousuf from Irvathur when she was working as a beautician in Kuwait in 2012 after knowing him for two years.
In 2013, Yousuf left to India and never returned. Unaware of his whereabouts, Rafia is now searching for her husband and that search brings her to Karkala.
Even as she was hopeful that he would return to her one day, a news that he had married another woman has shattered all her dreams.
After reaching Karkala few days back, she filed a complaint with the police here seeking justice. The police however, summoned Yousuf, who blatantly denied the allegations. Yousuf is married to another woman from Kaup.
Rafia, who has certain documents and pictures taken in Yousuf’s company says that she is ready to live with Yousuf despite him being married to another woman.
Assistant superintendent of police, Dr Sumana Parnekar has assured action.
