Udupi: A day after the dead body of a cattle trader was found under mysterious circumstances, near Pedoor here and it is learnt that a police official suspected to have been involved in the case had bern suspended from duty.

The suspension orders came on Thursday May 31, after the deceased Hussainabba’s family raised suspicions that Hussainabba was beaten to death by Bajrang Dal activists in connivance with the police. As of now Hiriadka police station sub-inspector D N Kumar stands suspended and it is gathered that a few other officials too may face action in this case.

As per reports, the police had received a tip-off about illegal transportation of cattle in a vehicle at around 4:30 am on Wednesday morning and had gone to investigate the matter. The occupants of the car had fled the car upon seeing the police and later in the day the police found Hussainabba’s body on a hillock in Perdoor.

The family has claimed that Hussainabba who is a cattle trader had been targeted by the BD activists on a previous occasion as well. At that time he was made to consume cow urine, they said.
