Udupi: In a heart-wrenching incident, around ten street dogs were poisoned to death in Udupi city.

While eight stray dogs were seen battling for life outside the Mandovi Emerald building, here in the city on Monday night, two were reportedly found outside Mandovi Sovereign.

A video of the dogs breathing their last amidst the drizzle is being circulated on WhatsApp.

Animal Rights Activist Babitha Madhwaraj, told this news portal that a CCTV footage shows a man coming on a bike and feeding fish laced with poison to these desi dogs.

She feels that it must be some section of people who felt that these stray dogs can be a threat to them.

A complaint will be soon registered by Babitha Madhwaraj in connection to this case. “We will take up the issue and make sure that the culprit is booked,” she said.
