Udupi: Ancient linga mudra stone found in Basrur Ashoka Park

Udupi: A 400-year-old linga mudra stone has been found at Ashoka Park behind Basrur Gram Panchayat in Kundapura Taluk of the District.

An approximately 400-year-old linga mudra stone was found while levelling the land for renovation of Ashoka Park behind Basrur Gram Panchayat. The discovery of the oldest linga mudra stone at Basrur has created a stir in the minds of the researchers.

In order to gather more information about the stone, it has been brought to the notice of the Indian History Compilation Committee Udupi District Convenor Pradeep Kumar Basrur.

In Linga mudra stone idols of Sun, Moon, Shivalinga, and Nandi were found.
