Udupi: A park featuring a bronze statue of Parashurama is being constructed on the Umikkala Hill at Bailur in Karkala and most of the works are in the final stages. The statue will be unveiled in January.
In all, Rs 10 Crore has been sanctioned at Bailur, which falls on the Udupi-Karkala Highway. A park with a bronze statue of Parshurama is being created at a high cost. Foundation of buildings related to the construction of the park, wall construction work has been completed, state-of-the-art museum with audio visual room, weaving deck gallery to enjoy Parashurama’s field, open house with a capacity of thousands of people, Bhajana Mandira, pop collection of green rooms, stage, snd supplementary construction work for natural site features. Thus, 90 per cent of works have been completed.
