Udupi: Car driver assaults petrol bunk staff for trivial issue

Udupi: A car driver, who had arrived to fill in fuel at Bharat Petroleum Pump in Moolur on National Highway 66, assaulted a staff member over a petty issue on the night of Sunday March 19.

The driver of the car came to fill in diesel into his car and asked him to pour fuel worth Rs. 2,000. Ankit, a pump staff, accidentally raised a petrol gun and the enraged driver trampled on the petrol and diesel units with his feet, snatched the ping machine, smashed it and ransacked it.

Pushparaj, the Supervisor of the pump, who came to enquire about the incident, was also allegedly assaulted. The assaulted Supervisor Pushparaj has been admitted to Ajjarakadu Hospital in Udupi.
