Udupi: CITU State President Varalakshmi, who was on her way to Hassan after completing the 15th State Conference of CITU here for three days, met with an accident at Agumbe on Thursday November 17.

Dharmesh was driving the car and was about 5 km away from Jaipura to Alduru after Agumbe Ghat. At around 10.30 pm, the car left the road and went towards the gorge. It fell down more than 50 feet. There was also no network to convey information. There had been a danger that the car would have gone ahead and fallen into the Bhadra River. They were in a situation where if they got down without leaving a load on the car, their feet would have stuck in the mud. When the two women came to the side of the road, Sukumar’s car, which was returning from the same conference, arrived. At least 100 incidents have taken place at the spot, police said.

A board should be put up in this dangerous place so that it is visible to all vehicles at night. They have also demanded that a retaining wall should be put up so that the vehicles do not such face problems.
