Udupi: The Hindu burial ground at Santosh Nagar under Hemmadi Gram Panchayat limits is in a dilapidated condition.

The Hindu burial ground in Hemmadi Santosh Nagara has no electricity connection, no water facilities as well as thorn bushes have grown around the road and the cemetery. The stone has fallen and the people of the village are forced to go to Kundapur crematorium to cremate the body.

Shri Muktidham Hindu Cremation Ground Organisation has demanded that the Hindu burial ground be developed.

0.23 cents of land has been reserved for the Hindu burial ground in Survey No. 136/2 of Hemmadi Santosh Nagar, which has been used by members of the Hindu community for more than 60 years.

If the burial ground is developed, the people of the village will be benefitted. The number of residential houses is being constructed in Hemmadi Village which is progressing and the population is increasing year by year.
