Udupi: Krishna Naik (54), the husband of Former Municipal Council President Shanta Naik allegedly has been assaulted by a youth here on Thursday December 15.
The accused has been identified as Arjun, a neighbour of the victim who has been taken into custody by Manipal Police.
Both Krishna Naik and Arjun have suffered injuries during the scuffle. The duo are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Manipal.
