Udupi: Tulu culture is more important than caste for the people of Tulunadu and one should not forget tulu culture even if we go abroad. However, the inclusion of Tulu language in the eighth schedule has not been done so far and the politicians have spent their time leaving bundles alone, lamented Sri Sri Isha Vittaldasa Swamiji of Kemaru Sandipani Sadhanaashrama.

He was speaking after launching an app called ‘Telebaravu’ at Srikshetra Kemar here on Sunday under the leadership of Jai Tulunad (R).

Jnanesh Deralakatte, the creator of ‘Telebaravu’ software, was felicitated on the occasion. The letters written in Kannada in this software will be converted into Tulu script, said Jnanesh, who was felicitated.

Vishu Srikera, President of Jai Tulunadu Sangathan, presided over the function. Rajesh Shetty, vice-president of Aikala grama panchayat, was the chief guest. Uday Poonja, vice-president of Jai Tulunadu, was also present. Kiran Tuluve compered the programme.
