Udupi: A KSRTC bus overturned on the National Highway near Santhe Market in Kundapur on Thursday March 16 after being hit by a lorry from behind.
The bus was on its way to the bus stand from KSRTC depot near Murakai of Basrur in Kundapur. While taking a U-turn on the divider in front of the market, a lorry coming from Udupi side towards Byndoor collided with it from behind.
As a result, the KSRTC bus overturned and the bus driver, Bhaskar N. Rai, was injured.
The accident was attributed to the negligence of the lorry driver and over-speeding. The accused lorry driver has been taken into custody. Kundapur Traffic Police has registered a case in this regard.
