Udupi: Man dies in car collision at Thekkady

Udupi: In a tragic incident, a Maruti Swift car collided with a car near National Highway – 66 Main Circle here, killing him on the spot at around 7.30 pm on Monday February 20.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Mogaveera (49), a resident of Thotadabettu in Thekkady. A Maruti Swift, which was on its way to Kundapur from Manipal, came straight and hit a pedestrian, resulting in severe head injuries and he died on the spot.

A woman, a resident of Beejadi Arasarabettu, who was travelling close to the intensity of the accident, was also hit by the car and rushed to a private hospital in Koteshwara with minor injuries.

Station House Officer of Kota Police Station Madhu B. E. and staff rushed to the spot and registered a case.
